Improving Contrast in Print OCR with IR Imaging

In the original image, a white backlight is used without a filter. When a MidOpt® BP850 Near-IR Bandpass Filter is placed over the lens and used with an IR backlight, the filter blocks the visible portion of the spectrum but passes only the ink illuminated by the output wavelength of the IR backlight. This makes the invisible print visible and also creates optimal contrast.

Protecting Sensors from Laser and NIR Damage

For applications in which full spectrum infrared (i.e., heat) and/or UV radiation are an issue. The SP701 and SP705 allow cameras to eliminate blooming to achieve natural color, and protect the camera sensor from IR damage. The SP701 blocks UV light and IR light up to 1550nm. Heat-resistant Borofloat® substrates available in 1mm and 2mm thicknesses.

Custom unmounted sizes can be provided up to 760 x 200mm in size.
