Backlights provide sharp contrast to outline edges of an object. However, applications that are space constrained may make backlight utilization difficult. When the Backlight fluoreSHEET™ is illuminated from the front with a blue LED, it emits an orange fluorescence. A backlight effect can be created using a MidOpt Orange Bandpass Filter (BP590), which captures this emission while blocking the blue LED excitation. This creates the appearance of a diffuse white background in a monochrome image.
